A QUICK REVIEW
Before we proceed … a quick review. Our objective here is to provide a path to Catholicism which begins with nothing. Belief in God is not assumed and the authority of traditional Christian sources ― Scripture and the writings of the early Church Fathers ― are not immediately relied upon.
Such an approach is made increasingly necessary today as a general apathy towards religious truth and even an aggressive atheism has progressively inserted itself into a post-Christian culture.
And whereas in the past we might have engaged fallen-away family members over the importance of attending Mass on Sunday, today we are more likely to engage them over the very existence of God. Thus, the need for the first four parts of this essay.
